Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Editorial Board of JAMT is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all reasonable measures to prevent publication malpractice. All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical standards consistent with international best practices and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors confirm that their work is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Duties of Authors
1. Reporting Standards
Authors must present an accurate, clear, and objective account of the research conducted and its significance. Fabrication, falsification, or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
2. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. Proper citation or quotation must be provided for any work, data, or words of others. All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening.
3. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Concurrent or duplicate submission is considered unethical publishing behavior.
4. Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must appropriately acknowledge the work of others and cite all publications that significantly influenced the reported research.
5. Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All contributors meeting these criteria must be listed as co-authors.
6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research outcomes or interpretation. Sources of funding must be clearly stated.
7. Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction.
Duties of Editors
1. Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts should be published, based on the journal’s policies, reviewer evaluations, and legal and ethical considerations, including copyright and plagiarism regulations.
2. Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on intellectual merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
3. Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, or the publisher, as appropriate.
4. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
Duties of Reviewers
1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in decision-making and helps authors improve the quality and clarity of their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
2. Promptness
Reviewers who feel unqualified or unable to complete a review within the agreed timeframe should promptly inform the editor and decline the assignment.
3. Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others without editorial authorization.
4. Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate. All comments should be supported by clear arguments.
5. Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant work that has not been cited and inform the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript and other published works.
6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Information obtained through peer review must remain confidential and not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers must not evaluate manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Ethical Commitment
JAMT is committed to maintaining transparency, integrity, and accountability in scholarly publishing. Any allegations of misconduct will be handled seriously and in accordance with COPE guidelines to protect the credibility of the academic record.
